Electrostatic potentials accumulated on the body or on metal and plastic objects are a nuisance to personnel and pose to threat to the reliability of integrated circuits on electronic manufacturing processes. Many environments experience difficulties from electrostatic discharge including electronics manufacturing, industrial process and office environments. Increasingly stringent customer requirements for high product reliability at component as well as at system level pose new challenges to quality conscious manufacturers.

CEI provide measurement surveys and assistance with the design of Electrostatic Protected Areas (EPAs) to control levels in line with standards such as EN 100015. Compliance Engineering Ireland Ltd assists manufacturers to ensure that their processes comply with adequate quality systems. CEI also provide a training course on this subject.
