EMC Compliance

Compliance Engineering International provides EMC testing for manufacturers working across a wide range of sectors. We have 20 years experience in EMC testing and to date we have tested thousands of products. Our test reports are accepted world-wide, ensuring our clients products comply with national and international EMC standards, and can get to market as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.

Featuring the most advanced equipment and facilities, our test centre is staffed by knowledgeable, professionally qualified engineers who deliver the fast, effective operation and friendly service that CEI has become known for.

The range of EMC compliance testing we offer includes (but is not limited to):

N
Conducted and radiated emissions
N
Conducted and radiated immunity
N
Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
N
Fast transient bursts
N
Surge testing
N
Mains variations
N
Power frequency magnetic fields
N
Harmonics testing

The EMC Directive 2014/30/EU requires compliance of all equipment placed into service. This directive emphasises the responsibility of the installer to preserve the EMC of installed systems. CEI also carry out environmental surveys to ensure the EMC of new designs and that equipment performs as intended.

With six EMC testing chambers, we are the only accredited electrical testing laboratory in Ireland. For further information about our on-site and off-site testing facilities, please see:

Pre-compliance Testing

Prior to full compliance testing, CEI can assist you in correcting non-compliances early on to save you time and expense later. It is of the utmost importance to ensure product compliance by early qualification of your prototype design. Re-design can be prohibitively expensive and will result in delays to market.

We undertake many specialised pre-compliance testing and consultancy projects including:

N
Shielding effectiveness of cables and materials
N
Antenna characterisation
N
Assessment of power quality
N
Component ESD testing
N
Electrical safety surveys
When Realtime Technologies launched SHIMMER, a wearable health sensor for both connected and wireless environments, they approached CEI to assist with their certification requirements. CEI provided Shimmer with world-wide access to markets such as USA, Canada and Australia in addition to Europe
CEI has performed on site and laboratory testing of many renewable energy products. These products provide their own test challenges and CEI has successfully completed many EMC and safety assessments.

CEI assisted Sensurity to obtain Radio, EMC and electrical safety approval for their innovative security system HALO, which provides both a detection and secure transmission system.
